Martha Wetter, Ph.D.
Martha W. Wetter, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy to treat trauma-based disorders. She received her Ph.D. in 1984 from the University of Kentucky, and has worked in independent practice, in community mental health, and in an academic position in the Psychology Department at UK. In 1996, she established the DBT program at the Comprehensive Care Center in Lexington, KY, and she directed this program until August, 2005. During that time, she trained Comprehensive Care Center staff throughout the region. She now has an independent private practice in Lexington, and she continues to run a DBT program in this setting. She has been involved in the Kentucky Psychological Association (KPA) for many years, and served as President in 2011. In 2016 Dr. Wetter received the Distinguished Career in Psychology award from KPA. In 2019 Dr. Wetter received the Theres N. Walton Lifetime Achievement award from National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). And, in 2020 she became a Certified Clinician™ from the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification.
