  • Individual Psychotherapy

Individual psychotherapy involves regularly scheduled sessions between a client and a therapist. Therapists use research-based techniques to help people decrease distress and negative emotions, and increase a sense of well-being. A number of approaches to psychotherapy exist, including cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and psychodynamic, among others. Individual psychotherapy is a collaborative treatment based on the relationship between an individual and a therapist. Psychotherapists also work with couples, families and groups.

Psychotherapy is used successfully to treat emotional, behavioral, and social problems in people with depression, anxiety and a wide range of other behavioral health issues.

The number, frequency, and type of psychotherapy sessions an individual has is based on his or her unique treatment needs.
